A Night Out With Wolf & Lamb

Posted in Music Photography Tour Diary on Tuesday 01st December, 2009 by Danna Takako

Always reinventing the party and sliding between genres and sounds, Wolf & Lamb are a brightly equipped two-man army taking over Brooklyn and beyond...one after-party at a time. The more you read about the duo, the more you find yourself picturing what it's like to get down with the DIY party-starters/label managers/hotel owners (well, kinda...)/all-in-the-box DJs/immensely talented musical souls. As we geared up for their Room Three gig this Saturday, our curiosity peaked - we decided to find out exactly what a night out with Wolf & Lamb means. Read on to hear some tales from their first UK invasion...

And to get you in the mood even more, wake the neighbours and put their mix on blast. Yes, you read correct - a chopped & screwed edit of Aaliyah, Findlay Brown and Trus'me all in the same tracklist.

Zev and I have never experienced anything like this before. We had been booked to play lo key a few hours after playing for Stuart Geddes (Murmur party, which was incredible...felt like an old Detroit warehouse party!!!). Apparently these crazy brits have been partying since 8am -- the day before -- when the party opened, and there were actual beads of sweat dripping from the ceiling. Not just a few, but so much that I had to cover my computer keyboard with my scarf (some beads actually infiltrated the inside of my computer, and had made it act very funny for the next day...hahah).

We went on to a crowd that was looking like they had had enough before we got on, but luckily Zev and I had stolen enough hours of sleep that we were able to re-energize the crowd for the final few hours...party turned out amazing!

Both parties we had played for Kubicle turned out exceptional as well. We felt like family instantly with this crew and are very happy to be their residents.

Thank you UK for making our first 2 international tours very exceptional.

Gadi (Lamb) + Zev (Wolf)
