The Italian producer and DJ who achieved initial success as a break-beat producer under the guise of A:Maver, Andrea Maver, now known as Camel, has a similar back story to the much acclaimed producer of the moment, Riva Starr. The list of similarities does not end at their individual musical histories as they are both massive talents and versatile producers in their own rights.
In recognition of this, London-based label owner and fellow Italian, Mowgli has very much taken Camel under his wing, releasing the second and third Camel EPs on Deadfish Records in quick succession. The Camel groove is a very distinctive sound, one that sits perfectly alongside the outstanding work by his label companions including Mowgli himself, Solo and the Round Table Knights, but it has a unique deep, percussive individuality that sets his sound apart from the others listed.
