It’s been a busy year for Hrdvsion, aka Nathan Jonson. With three 12”s to his name already this year – compared to the single release we digested last year – there’s one in particular that’s been grabbing people’s attention; his split release with Midnight Operator (his project with brother Mathew Jonson) With many a positive word attributed to it ‘Prettier Than That’ fulfils its promise of a ‘monster’ track to the end, underpinned by a heavy driving four on the four beat, it’s overlayed by R&B songstress Brandy’s cut up vocal and this mix of cut up sounds and most brutal of beats is, for us, what Hrdvsion’s production is all about. You can look forward to more of the same this Saturday as we prep ourselves for his next live outing in Farringdon this Saturday, where he’s joining Dave Clarke on the bill in Room Two. And ahead of that we’ve got something a bit different then for the blog, where colourful acidic synths meld with Scuba’s modern day take on rave in his 'Non Stop Drop' Mixtape.
