Bristol based KOAN Sound formed out of the ashes of other musical endeavours, and much like the rejuvenation that comes from being given the freedom to truly experiment, the group have been on the ascent ever since. EPs like ‘Max Out’ on Inspected showcase KOAN’s unique take on the dubstep template, all bombastic bass riffs and out of the ordinary preparations for that floor shaking drop. Ahead of their set in Room Two this Friday, they passed us a 45 minute mix that they made for Belgium’s Pure FM which features unreleased material from them alongside cuts from artists like Flatmate and Culprate.
