Audio: Re.You & Rampa fabric Promo Mix

This Saturday, the brothers Tiefschwarz are coming back to Room One with a selection of beat makers from their Souvenir label roster. One of the newer additions to the crew, Re.you, made his debut with us just over a year ago now, at which time he was enjoying the success of his collaborative single with Rampa, ‘Work’. Since then the pair have continued to vibe off each other in the studio and sharing a busy gig schedule they’ve also developed a live set aside from their backlog of studio work. The result is a heightening of their similar styles and synergy. We took the time to have a chat with both producers ahead of the debut of the duo’s new live outing and they offered to make us a mix to go along with the article. DOWNLOAD: Re.You and Rampa fabric Promo Mix You’re making your Room One live debut next Saturday with Tiefschwarz - what’s your link to the Souvenir crew? We are super happy to play with our friends from the crew, especially with Tiefschwarz. We have been working, playing and partying a lot together over the last few years. Both of us are artists on the Souvenir label and we all live and party in Berlin. That's how we became friends, we also have almost the same musical tastes. When did you realise that you were suited as production partners? The first track we did was "Work", which came out on Keinemusik in December 2010. It was more of a fast accident than a long process of hard work. We both loved our solo productions and hung out quite a lot. Somehow the idea of a live act came up and we started making plans. What does your live set entail exactly? We play a mixture of our own productions and remixes along the tracks we did together. We also have some unreleased tracks in it. The tracks are different to the originals, it’s like we developed the old tracks and gave them a new fresh angle. How’d you describe your sound – what’s different from your solo work? That's always the hardest question "describe your sound" hmmm... it's dancey! Tech-house with some mellowness. We try to keep a good balance between catchy and serious hard sounds. Actually there is no difference between our solo work and our thing together... It's like u get kids, some are a little more like the daddy, some are a little more like Re.you (haha) What have you got planned for the forthcoming summer? A lot of work... Upcoming releases on Rebirth, Cocoon, Souvenir and Gigolo together and single releases on Mobilee and Keinemusik. Also we still work on our live set and want to bring it to the next level, but you can be assured that there will be plenty of sunbathing, chilling in the sun and partying as well.
