Catching Up With...Adam Shelton + His fabric Promo Mix

Here's a One Records fact you may not know yet - the last of their label parties for 2012 will be going off in our very own Room Three next weekend. Don't get too emotional though because what this really means is that we're getting the closest members of the crew; founders Adam Shelton and Subb-an, as well as Burnski together to fully represent the label and all the new bits they've been busy working on. In the interview below Shelton tells us what we can look forward to in the New Year from One Records in a new Hector EP with remixes from H Foundation, Aamu.L and Peter JD, as well as signings from some of our own favourites Anthea and Clive Henry. He also gives a hint of what dubs your ears should look out for in the label takeover on the 1st Saturday of December. We're gunning to hear those lift out the system but until then, we'll leave you with Shelton's new exclusive promo mix for us and his words to reveal even more of what's coming up from him and One Records below. "The mix is totally where I am at music wise, deep feelings, acid sounds, music that makes you think a bit more about where the artist is coming from and my influences." DOWNLOAD: Adam Shelton fabric Promo Mix Hi Adam. You’ve had a very busy year with One Records dropping releases from DJ W!ld and Jordan Peak to name a few. How has it been at the front line of the release schedule this year? Hello, yes it has been a good year, we planned at the start of the year to step things up to the next level and I feel we have done that well, gaining some great new artists such as DJ W!ld, Dan Ghenacia, Anthea, Slok & Samu.L to name a few, then its been great to get some personal favourites involved such as Clive Henry and H Foundation. Can you take us up to speed with what’s coming up next for One Records this year? What are you most excited about that’s coming next? We have just had a cool release from Hector titled 'Stoned Raiders' with some excellent remixes from H Foundation, Samu.L & Peter JD. Coming up soon we have a really nice various artists release with tracks from Gwen Maze, Samu.L, John Dimas & more and going in to the early part of next year a release I am really looking forward to, Santos Resiak with remixes from the Martinez Brothers and Kenny Glasgow so lots to get excited about. What’s been the stand out One Records party for you this year and why? For me I loved the One Illusion party in Barcelona for Off-Sonar, this was such a great vibe, venue, crowd and all the crew was there playing great. Do you have plans to release on One Records again following ‘It’s Time’ with Subb-an in 2010? You guys have chosen to collaborate on both your releases for One Records so far. What’s the reason behind this? I will be doing a solo release around April time where Subb-an will remix, this will be my first solo project EP on the label so I am very much looking forward to this. Before then we have worked together on projects as we enjoy doing stuff together and have felt that our combined efforts really represent the labels vibe. It’s the last One Records party of the year in Farringdon on December 1st. How do you plan to make this night extra special with Burnski and Subb-an also at the helm? Well we have a good crew involved with the label but this is the really close side of the crew so I know the party will be full of new bits from the label, new projects we have all been working on and we will be fully representing the label. You’ve had a great run of remixes out recently for Ben Pearce, DJ W!ld and Michael McLardy. Why did you choose these tracks to play with in particular? I was asked to remix the Ben Pearse track after hearing the buzz it had created from the summer and I was loving the vocal so much I just wanted to add my take on the track. The DJ W!ld track Circo Fever I thought really had a great take on the vibe that is Circo Loco and that has been a massive influence to me so I wanted again to put across my own take on this. Michael and Dudley’s track - I loved the vibe and I also have an EP coming out on shortly so I am building a relationship with the label. Looking into your crystal ball what do you see in store for One Records in 2013? I see a host of great label parties around the globe, 2013 I am planning on moving the label up to the next level with some killer releases and remixes and really building a strong crew and brand.
