Crate Diggin': Bill Patrick Shares His Favourite Jams For The Bank Holiday Weekend

As part of WetYourSelf!'s third Bank Holiday special of 2016, fellow London party makers Unleash are set to come to Room Two to launch their new imprint and have invited Sammy Dee, Steve O'Sullivan, Bill Patrick, Cesar Merveille & residents Daylomar to mark the occasion. So, in way to give us a taste of just how they are going to bring the Unleash sound to our space they have invited NYC's ever charismatic Bill Patrick to share some of the records that he has packed for the Bank Holiday Weekend ahead...

100HZ - After Dark [Imprints #01]

I had an afterhours at mine last week and listened to this on repeat. Just an absolutely beautiful release and refreshingly original sound. The arrangement is top notch and everything about this track is class. It reminds me of how music used to be made; with attention to song structure, intricate changes in basslines and a balance of moods that compliment each other (I sound like I'm describing a fucking bottle of wine). Anyway, I would hug these guys and say thank you if I ever met them.

MOi - Untitled A [MOi04]

Amazing memories of playing this (twice) at Sunwaves this year as it's just gives off an eyes closed, infectious smile type of vibe. It moves and has a great energy, which comes in handy if you're trying to make people dance. Congrats to iO on a wicked release. Both sides are lovely.

JQUE PBRS TGXU - Coleoid Vigenère

I think this is Malin Genie (basing that on very little research I've done on this record.). Regardless of who it is, it's dope. Very trippy, great groove, gets played and does the job. Can't ask for much more.

Benjamin Wild - Ausklang - Perlon

This could be my favorite Perlon record.

Ricardo Villalobos - Ioda - Playhouse

...and this could be my favorite Ricardo Villalobos record. Give me a fucking break here, it's laughable how insane this record is. I decided to bring this back into the rotation recently and wow, what a great idea that was. It's not something you should play every gig and really, I would wait until you are 100% certain there is a deserving dance floor before you present this to them. You don't want to waste it on a shit crowd that can't wrap their feeble brains around it. I've methodically analyzed every sound in this track so many times over the years. Untouchable.

QNQN - QNQN 8

[No stream available] A vinyl only series starting this Autumn. Keep an eye and ear out.

Pablo Tarno - Jackin Revisited - Finest Hour

Deep house at it's finest (no pun intended). I know it's tempting for some of you DJs to play an after party in Ibiza and just mix in boring tech house but I promise if you played this, you'll feel better about yourself and so will your crowd. Smooth as fuck.

Dominick Martin - Knee Soul [The Nothing Special]

This came out a few years ago on Craig Richard's label and just like most things Craig touches, it resonates with class. Nice house music for the impending summer days. Photo: Camille Blake
