NEWSFLASH: Hyperdub to Takeover Room One & Videos for Terror Danjah's Dark Crawler & LV's Sebenza

Hyperdub’s legacy, from the early works of Burial, and beyond is pretty well documented. But simply put, Kode9’s label has been at the crux of a lot changes with London’s dance music from ghostly 2step to dubstep to funky to house and beyond into the creeping realms of avant noise. For their second label takeover of Room One the label is celebrating a duo of albums from shadowy south Londoners LV and one of grimes most referenced producers, Terror Danjah, on the same night. Considering that LV’s Sebenza, which means work in Zulu, is a collaboration with three South African emcees (Okmalumkoolkat, Spoek Mathambo and Ruffest) it makes total sense that Okmalumkoolkat will make the journey from his native lands for his first ever UK appearance whilst Terror will be appearing alongside Riko Dan for another of his rapid fire DJ sets. Planet Mu’s Traxman is also making the long journey to touch down in Farringdon for his London debut and, alongside the ghetto house producing Chicagoan, there’ll be DJ sets from Kode9, label staple Scratcha DVA, HDB’s chanteuse Cooly G, whose Playing Me album is currently obtaining rapturous reviews and Morgan Zarate too. It’s the kind of lineup you’d expect from such a gloriously musically disjointed organisation such as Hyperdub and we’re stoked to be able to announce that they’ll be inside Room One on Friday 7th September, whilst Night Slugs and Bristol’s Idle Hands takeover Rooms Two and Three respectively. To celebrate, here’s the latest videos from the South London label for Terror Danjah and LV, which we’re embedding here to try and get you feeling a little bit as excited as we are when we look at that lineup in its entirety. This Terror track is called ‘Dark Crawler’ and it features the vocal stylings of the aforementioned Riko Dan... ...And this is the title track from LV's forthcoming Sebenza album which features Okmalumkoolkat's gesturing and lyrical contribution.
