It seems like only yesterday that we last took over fabric's holy trinity, with three rooms of jumping, pumping, rocking, shocking live music and DJ sets last Easter Thursday. With a four day weekend to regenerate and rethink your life, what better time of year is there to enter into the spirit of things with wild abandon than the day before Good Friday?
Entering our fifth year of proud service at fabric, we've made it second nature to rewrite the rulebook on how to party at fabric. Whoever said you can't witness a neo-boogie-funk hero, a trailblazing Finnish house duo, a glitter-drenched former stage school solo act, a Nick Cave worshipping rock band, a gaggle of New Cross squatters and the newly crowned Belgian kings of nu-disco has another thing coming!
Let's kick off this lil' 'meet and greet' with our headline DJs on the night, Aeroplane. Famed for their own, blissful productions and unforgettable remixes for the likes of Grace Jones and Sebastian Tellier, they also dilligently keep up a monthly summary of all that rocks their world. Check out their latest mix, featuring Golden Bug, the new DFA cut from Black Van, and Tigersushi upstarts DyE.

Somebody you may know a little less about are No Pain In Pop gang, A Grave With No Name. Their scagged-out atmospherics will be setting the emotional tone in room 2, alongside the kaleidoscopic brilliance of fellow live acts Mount Kimbie, Banjo Or Freakout and Daedelus.

DJing in Room 2 will be two of THE stars of 2009. Dam-Funk needs little introduction. The Stone's Throw signed funkateer heralded his arrival on the decks at a recent London gig with an improvised 10 minute talkbox work-out, before laying down 2 hours of forgotten boogie classics, seamlessly intermingled with self-produced gems and narrated with his silky vocals throughout. Every performance is unique, this is one man who literally does whatever the funk he wants!

Darkstar's breakout hit, 'Aidy's Girl Is A Computer', might have provoked more delirium, if it weren't for the simultaneous blanket-hype of that other pesky future-bass upstart, Joy Orbison and his 'Hyph Mngo' release, which hardly needs another column inch! The former is a more understated, slow-burning treat, rightly placing in all sorts of end of year lists. You should also look out for the soulful Kyle Hall remix which, if anything, is as good as the original!

Back to the bands! Is Tropical have been ably filling the void temporarily left behind by AITBF favourites Late Of The Pier. They were recently interviewed for the Margaret blog. Check out their views (and bizarre facial adornments!) here...

When Angular Records sign a record, we tend to sit up and take notice. Gyratory System are an innovative bunch, producing a mind-melting melange of frenetic, electronic sounds. Recently handpicked by Soulwax to open a series of shows, these guys certainly how to set a party alight!

Finally, AITBF resident, Casper C, is making an official Room 1 debut (he once made an impromptu appearance in place of an exhausted duo at Kill Em All!). He'll be closing off proceedings after Aeroplane, with a selection of bouncy, bassy bangers, new and old. So what better to post, than a recent Fabric warm-up set, that sounds nothing like what he'll be playing on the night :)
