Hi there, Dan from Pure Groove here. We're a record shop/gallery space/bar just over the road from fabric in Farringdon. We put on live bands and other events every weekday night and it's always absolutely free to get in. Here are some highlights from the next few weeks. A truly amazing updated version of a classic Motown sound. Mesmerising.
Friday 4th September - Hook & The Twin - 7.30pm
Fusing the energic post-rave spirit of The Klaxons with the dark Krauty grooves of Neu. Amazing!
Monday 7th September - Ou Est Le Swimming Pool - 7.30pm
Winners of the stupidest name around, these electro poppers actually sound like they could be massive.
Wednesday 9th September - exlovers - 7.30pm
This is some the nicest chill out music we've heard in ages. Warm acoustic songs along the lines of Elliot Smith or Evan Dando. This will be special.
11th September - The Joy Formidable - 7.30pm
Pure Groove heroes return for another set-to-be huge show. Absolutely epic "dream pop" that genuinely sounds like nothing else around at the moment. If you saw them play at fabric for Adventures In The Beetroot Field earlier this year, then you know what we're talking about.
12th September - Andrew WK - 6pm
We can't quite believe this one is happening. The legend that is Andrew WK plays Pure Groove for a special one off Saturday evening show. Oh my.
