In an internet world where one can be as many things as they like - you can call yourself King Kong Karen and hang out on chatroulette with a body wig and novelty apron, yelping into your macbook camera with the ferocity of a freshly murdered stag if that’s your particular bucket of chum – it’s refreshing to see a group of people harnessing the scope of the internet properly. Club.The.Mammoth started as a club night, now it’s both a label and a promotion outfit that boasts residencies the breadth of London Over with regular nights at The Old Blue Last in Shoreditch, Lock Tavern in Camden, Queen of Hoxton in Hoxton, The Old Queens Head in Angel, Tooting Tram & Social in Tooting and the The Oakford Social in Reading. Having released artists like The Palpitations, Arrows of Love, You Say Party and Islington Boys’ Club on their grassroots label, they’ve played host to all manner of talent at their parties inviting people like Born Ruffians and The Macabees in the same breath as SBTRKT and Esben & The Witch. Their mission statement is simply to pick the best cutting edge bands and DJs that they think should be heard and their musical midas touch has been harnessed by London festivals like Stag & Dagger, Field Day and 1234 Shoreditch.
