Audio: Ben Sims - Devil's Son In Law (Parts 1 & 2)

Across a heated office debate on the UK’s most successful exports there was only going to be one winner. For some it was the light bulb (invented in the 1800s), for others it was Pimms but after hearing his ‘Devils Son In Law’ mix beat our stereo into submission on a particularly sleepy Monday, it had to be Ben Sims. Excuse the rhyme but with the “3 Deck Master’ or affectionately dubbed “The Machine” soon to be taking over Room Two alongside fabric 53 stalwart Surgeon as Frequency 7 this Saturday, we’ve been running round in circles for his weighty techno mix of heavy kicks, ballsy bass and crisp 909 cymbals. With a CV hard to chew, Ben has spent the last ten years running nine labels, a couple of which are on hold at present (Theory, Killabite, Hardgroove, Native, Ingoma, Symbolism, Assembly, KB Records inc, Split Music) and his productions have attracted remix work from techno heavyweights Jeff Mills, Green Velvet, Chris Liebing and Adam Beyer to name but a few. So with a debut artist album in the mill as well his own radio show coming out for 2011, we’re happy to know that like all successful exports, Ben Sims is not going anywhere. All that is left is for you to do now is crank up the volume. Download: Ben Sims - Devil's Son In Law (pt 1 & 2)
