Federico Maccherone first made his mark on the electronic sphere alongside Francesco Leali as part of the warped-tech house production duo, Clockwork. After they parted ways he's spent the last few years working his way deep into a more murky and techno focussed aesthetic releasing and performing as Somne. His 2014 EP, Millennium, for Boddika's leading edge imprint Nonplus+ served as a strong statement of what was to come - with a decidedly darker tone pallete he built his tracks from a blacker, tenser outlook creating tension and atmosphere on the dancefloor.
Having delivered some of the label's latest sounds he's been invited by Boddika to appear on the line up for the impending Nonplus+ showcase here in Room Two next Saturday 12th September where he'll join Bod and Analogue Solutions founder, Eduardo de la Calle on the bill. Here, in the promo mix he's dropped as a teaser of what's to come, he demonstrates his accomplished command of this new more techno focused territory - even dropping a classic number from the Nonplus+ history: Lowtec's down beat burner 'Looser' from his 2011 released 12".
