Competition
Win A Copy of Pearson Sound's Debut Album

It might have taken some time, but David Kennedy will finally realise and release his first full length album on Hessle Audio a week today. The record, which is simply entitled Pearson Sound, is described by the label as “characteristically minimalist in approach” which results in “striking contrasts: bold, stark, and visceral, yet also subtle, harmonically complex and deceptively playful." It’s the first, complete full length statement from the producer, who’s previously hit out with a run of impeccably well received 12” singles and EPs. Unlike those 12”s though, the album’s central focus is Kennedy’s relationship with machines and the noises the ones he owns make when fed through a signal chain he felt fully at peace with. It isn’t a ‘Wad’-redux by any means and it certainly isn’t an extended vision of Power Drumsss;’ it’s the sound of him experimenting with technologies and it creeps further toward the type of knackered, margins music he’s long been playing in his sets on Rinse FM.

Ever since the label teased the catalogue number, HESLP002, a few months back the anticipation for the album has steadily been building and considering we’re on the precipice of its release this week with the Hessle lads also inviting Jackmaster to join them in Room One this Friday (6th March), we thought we’d offer our readers the chance to experience the album for themselves and come and see them takeover Room One.

So, to be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to FABRICLIVE on 06/03 and one of three CD copies of the album, email competitions@fabriclondon.com with the subject title 'I Want A Pearson Sound CD' by lunch time on Thursday 5th March.
