Colin de la Plante, aka The Mole, has just announced plans for a series of EPs on his Maybe Tomorrow imprint (the one he co-runs with Kompakt's Jon Berry) and I know what you’re thinking; that’s not all that an unusual thing for a musician to do, right? Well there is a twist, actually. The series is to be called ‘Best Buds’ and it will exclusively feature studio collaborations with the Mole’s nearest and dearest. The first volumne will feature Turbo affiliate Hreno on the A side with the track ‘Things Are Heating Up In The Grizzly Maze’ while Cadenza’s Ernesto Ferreyra is the collaborator on the other side with a whopping 27 minute jam names ‘She Said Paper Bags.’ Born out of extended hours of jamming in their Berlin studios, each track offers an insight into how each artist’s personality interacts with the The Mole’s trippy trademark groove.
With de la Plante’s next solo session scheduled for tomorrow night on the Room One stage we thought we could neatly tie in an insight into the project by asking him to delve into his bag (or in online terms YouTube bookmarks) and pick out a selection of tracks from his best buds that he digs the most.
