Eyeballin': Deniz Kurtel - Switch On The Night Documentary

As well as being famed and widely appreciated for her decidedly funked up cuts found mainly on Crosstown Rebels and Wolf + Lamb, there's a whole other impressive side to the NY based artist's creative abilities. In various situes from The Marcy Hotel, Burning Man Festival and Rabbit Hole Deniz Kurtel has installed her interactive light sculptures that harness LEDs and mirrors to immerse subjects in a world of light and music. Most recently she has created 'The Introspecular,' a trailer touring a music and art installation, where the light and art are controlled by the user in a way that is immediately engaging and visually stunning so much so that Mixmag recently sent a documentary crew to cover her latest tour and captured this remarkable art installation in operation. With a DJ set incoming at this Saturday we thought the video makes the perfect pre-cursor to the musical side of Kurtel's world we'll be enjoying in Room One when the night comes.
