fabric 15th Birthday Weekend: A Guide

So… the countdown to our 15th Birthday Weekend has nearly reached its terminus; and thus, with only a few sleeps left, we’re busy telling each other that we had better make them count. With this in mind and because well, this isn’t any ordinary weekend for us, we’ve put together a guide clearly laying out everything you’ll need to know to fully enjoy the upcoming celebrations…

Tickets:

At time of writing this, the advance weekend tickets have sold out and the Friday night and Sunday night (valid from 10am) tickets are very close to selling out. This does not mean that if you do not have a ticket you won’t be able to join us; we only ever sell 50% of the club’s capacity in advance so you can just come down and pay on the door on the night. We would strongly recommend that you arrive early to avoid disappointment/queues though. For the Saturday/Sunday leg of the party everybody will be given a wristband (that will allow you re-entry before 10pm on Sunday) which will allow you to nip out for a disco nap (something we’d definitely advise), quick shower or a Sunday lunch with the folks over in St Pauls… whatever. After 10pm on Sunday night, when you enter the venue these wristbands will be removed and there’ll be no re-entry after this time - obviously we’ll still be letting people in to the party (unless we happened to be running at capacity at that time). Unfortunately we cannot predict when it’ll be busy inside the venue and we cannot advise you when we think you will have to queue if you don’t have an advance ticket. This always fluctuates and there may well be points where you will have to queue even if you do have a wristband or advance ticket.

fabricfirst:

We’re proud to be able to say that the usual fabricfirst privileges apply on the birthday weekend. Our lovely members get priority entry, tickets on the door and the option to bring a guest along with them (who will pay full door price). Food:

We’re pleased to announce that the East London vendors, Voodoo Ray’s will be installed at the back of the club providing their famous NYC inspired pizza slices to fuel the extended rave session. There’ll even be a specially curated menu on offer. Catch them from 7am on Sunday morning – 11pm that night.

Fancy Dress:

Our birthday is the only time of year that fancy dress is condoned in our disco. For some reason it always seems to mostly happen on the Sunday. We’ve already sorted our costumes have you?

Mobile Phones:

When fabric opened in 1999 smart phones didn’t exist. Back then the Nokia 3210 was king. You remember it? It made phone calls, received and wrote texts, had Snake on it and was fully customizable if you really went ham on the ringtone composer or got invested in the interchangeable facias. But that was about all it did. Sure the 3210 sent picture messages, but they were just stock banks of clip art and every now and then a blocky portrait of a lesser character from The Simpsons came pixelating through. We’re well aware that now - a good 15 years later - pretty much every mobile phone handset going has the ability to take photographs and video and that, sadly, it no longer matters what your high score on Snake was. And you know what? We get it. We’re quite OCD about documenting our nights too - that’s exactly why we employ our team of talented club photographers – but we’d really love it if you’d enter in to the spirit of our club’s heritage and the journey it represents by turning the extra lighting off. Shining a super bright LED light in a DJ’s face so you can record a shaky, blown out 3 minute epic of ‘that amazing tune’ that you’ll never actually be able to remember will never ever be worth it. It ruins the experience for other people and frankly, it just makes you look pretty selfish. So if you’re here and you find yourself on the dancefloor with your face buried deep in a snapchat, remember this simple mantra: Also, please take care of your phones over the weekend. Don’t leave them unattended or in open sight. If at any point you think you have lost yours, notify a member of our security/steward team immediately or after the event you can email cloakroom@fabriclondon.com for lost property. Upon leaving the club you may be asked to be searched and asked to unlock your phone to make sure it is yours. Please help us catch phone thieves in our venue.
