Feed Your Stereo: Komonazmuk

Part of the burgeoning Bristol dubstep scene, the man with one of the best monikers in electronic music, Komonazmuk, has compiled a new mix ahead of his upcoming set on Friday at FABRICLIVE. Consisting almost entirely of dubplates, the mix has a little of the expected dark feel to it, incorporating new work by Ramadanman, DJ Madd (as remixed by Breakage) and plenty of fresh artists to keep the dubplate trainspotters happy. Things start out pretty deep courtesy of Arkist but start to gather momentum when the female vocals in Breakage’s remix of ‘Someone’ blend neatly into the sax solo of AC23’s Vertigo. Komon then throws ‘Fading’ by Indigo (who’ll be joining him, Pinch, Peverelist, Bass Clef and Headhunter in Room Two) between Martyn’s ‘Right?Star!’ and Headhunter’s stunning ‘Royal Flush’ - bringing some smile-inducing familiarity to the experience. The finale includes Headhunter once again, as well as Biome and Rukus & Roke taking things up a notch to create a rather tempestuous climax. Enjoy!
