High Fidelity: The Mole's Favourite The Kids In The Hall Sketches

Wagon Repair’s Colin de la Plante aka The Mole has got an especially twisted sense of humour just like us heat crazed folk in the Farringdon office and it's one of the reasons why we look forward to hanging out with the colourful Canadian who you'll also know for his Cobblestone Jazz output this Saturday. Earlier this month we told you about The Mole's debut LP, 'Caregiver' released this year on his newly co-founded label venture, Maybe Tomorrow, so we're also looking forward to hearing the myriad of styles and tempos eloquently elicited from the new album by Colin on the Room One stage this weekend. Without any probing from us and just as we had hoped, The Mole has chosen to share his style of humour with us, picking out his favourite sketches from the Canadian TV show The Kids In The Hall. He introduces his best bits for us and you can watch the videos for some afternoon entertainment pleasure below. "I guess ever since I did that Electronic Beats interview, people think I'm funny. This seemed like a good chance to share some of the golden comedy I grew up with, The Kids In The Hall. These guys were doing their skits on CBC, our version of BBC for years and much of it has fallen into my regular vernacular. Fans out there will perhaps find fault in me leaving out some of the classics like 'My Pen', 'To The Guy Who Stole My Bike' or the chicken lady, sweet, sweet crazy chicken lady. There were some I just plain couldn't find - 'Sex Girl Patrol' - or that I left out just because they seemed a little long for first timers - 'Bobby Vs Satan' for example or 'In Search Of Pot'. Considering all this, I can only hope that this little list from the kids' giant collection will at least bring a smile to some faces. "Hope to see you at fabric on 20th July." Into the Doors Buddy Cole - I'm Canadian But First…The Whores! $1000 Drunk Dad Advice Inexperienced Cannibal Things To Do Cops The Mole plays live in Room One on 20th July.
