With these changes due to come into effect as of this weekend we wanted to pull them apart a bit better. Aided by some of the line ups we have available now - below we lay out exactly what Fridays will look like over the coming quarter.
Due to commence this coming weekend, Curates is all about inviting artists that we hold immense respect for to programme their own line ups. Here, they’ll go beyond selecting records and explore how they would approach building a party themselves, referencing key influences in their career along with lesser known talents they have marked for success.
We’re particularly amped about rolling this out throughout 2017 starting with DVS1: Curates. DVS1 was the perfect partner to set out on this series with – as a DJ he’s had over 20 years of experience with passion and dedication at its core. Following up on this debut, revered Berlin talent Rødhåd will be our second curator at the end of March.
Tickets to DVS1 are here and you can watch out for our full announcement of Rødhåd’s take over very soon.
While fabric on Saturdays has always had its own distinct focus on house and techno there’s just not been enough space to fit everyone we want in on that particular night of the week. Plus, so many of our mainstay artists have been pushing their own labels and parties so this gave us a window to be able to accommodate them better.
It’s also offered us space to do something a bit different, complementing what we see on Saturday nights but slightly to the left. 20th January is the perfect example of this – with artists like Pearson Sound, Delta Funktionen, Conforce and Broken English Club all making a welcome return to Farringdon.
Looking forward to the events we have on sale right now, you can see this coming into effect. Aus Music are heading to EC1 to mark a decade in operation on 3rd February, while Maceo Plex will be bringing Ellum Audio on the 17th of that same month. Plus, Apollonia will be returning to Room One for another takeover in March.
What’s more, we’ve landed a couple of coups with a pair of artists that we’ve not had the opportunity to host before. King of the melodic John Hopkins and Caribou’s Dan Snaith’s dancefloor focussed alias Daphni will both be coming to fabric Presents later in the year.
We announced last year its new permanent home will be on the last Friday of the month. So every month you will see FABRICLIVE fall on this day. There will be more, though. Already we have at least two FABRICLIVE sessions in the diary per month for the first quarter this year. You can check the latest listings on the site and we’re readying the March additions to go live very soon.
For the now, we can reveal that you’ll be seeing Camo & Krooked launch their forthcoming LP MOSAIK, Manchester MC Bugzy Malone return to RM1, Logan D led d’n’b power crew Low Down Deep and one of the most technically respected producers to come from the UK - Sub Focus all being announced over the coming weeks. Plus, The Blast will be coming to EC1 for their own session in the near future.
