NEWSFLASH: Digital Mystikz Make FABRICLIVE debut for our 13th Birthday

As part of our celebrations for our 13th Birthday on the Friday night (19th October), we’re opening up Room Two to Pinch’s Tectonic imprint once again. Now, ordinarily that fact would be a story in itself considering the prevalence and influence the Bristol based label had on dubstep (generally pushing the possibilities and steering the sound towards techno with landmark releases like 2562’s Aerial), but on this date, Digital Mystikz make the first ever appearance in the club. Granted both Coki and Mala have played separately before, but for one of dubstep’s most pioneering production teams to finally grace our soundsystem at the same time, is a pretty massive deal to us. Along with Loefah and Sgt Pokes, the Mystikz own and operate the DMZ record label and the gargantuanly influential dance of the same name, but more recently they’re each more renowned for their solo exports: Mala’s Deep Medi label and his ground breaking Mala In Cuba album and Coki for his world beating command of LFO wobble bass. It’s a massive understatement to note that DMZ had influence on the evolution of dubstep; as if to coin the variation within the style in the first place, the Mystikz collaborative production work often fell somewhere between Mala’s meditative productions and Coki’s speaker slayers, constantly creating defining moments like the ones we’ve picked below... Catch Digital Mystikz make their fabric debut in Room Two on Friday 19th October. Tickets and info are available here.
