WYS! Interview Luke Solomon and Offer Up his New Track 'You Move Me' For Download

Luke Solomon for many is an unsung hero of UK’s house music legacy. His imprint Classic that he’s helmed alongside Derrick Carter for over 15 years now broke talents like DJ Sneak, Tiefshwarz and Isolee with the greater world and he’s also penned one of the best loved tracks circa 2003 – The Freaks ‘Creeps’. Today Classic has been given a new lease of life as genre has been enjoying a welcome renaissance and we’re set for plenty new and fresh material from Solomon himself. WetYourSelf! have been long time appreciators of Solomon’s work, most recently inviting him to remix Cormac’s ‘Narcosa’ for the latest release on WetYourSelf! Recordings. Good timing then, for the crew to invite the producer to Farringdon for their WYS! Jubilee special. They’ve also nabbed an exclusive track to download and refresh your stereo this weekend as well as catching up on his latest happenings. DOWNLOAD: Luke Solomon - You Move Me What was the inspiration behind the track? I loved the original and wanted to offer my own take on it. You have a busy schedule coming up, can you speak a little bit about projects you’re working on and what you’re looking forward to the most this summer? Trying to juggle studio is hard but I am a workaholic, so I manage. The Moxa residency at Corsica Studios is a highlight. The next wave of Classic releases and our party at Off Sonar, also. And a tour of Brazil….and my holiday in Cyprus. Oh and DC10 with Jamie Jones…. You have a compilation coming out on D-EDGE, how is the scene over in Brazil, do you feel as though awareness of electronic music is growing? Every year I have been going the underground scene seems to be getting stronger and stronger…excited about this year You’re mixing an album for Merveille & Crosson, how did that come about? How is it sounding? A close friend, that used to run Classic, now runs Visionquest. He put me in touch, and they were aware of my work, and asked me to do it. I actually really enjoyed working on it. It was good to detach myself from my own mind, and be in someone else. The album is mastered andand ready to go... You have a project coming up, ‘These New Things’ which I’m led to believe will be a totally different direction, can you give us a little insight as to what to expect? Something I have been working on with Richard Walters and Martin Radford. Richard’s voice, Martin's cello and my electronica, have been moulded together to make something a little sound tracky and a little poppy I guess. Not sure what to compare it to really…I have loved doing it, that’s the main thing. You remixed Cormac’s track narcosa on WetYourSelf! recordings, tell us about the process? Thats top secret…sorry folks
