Midland returns to Room One. As a DJ, producer and label owner, the UK artist is one of electronic music’s most respected figures, as lauded for his ultra-deep record choices as he is his instant dancefloor hits. Behind the decks, his sound lies somewhere between abstract house and techno with colourful splashes of disco, a style he’s used to showing on his regular appearances with us. He’s joined by another longstanding Farringdon mainstay, Steffi. The Ostgut Ton stalwart has long been known for her delectable taste in deep house and its derivatives, but in recent years, her signature sound has crossed deep electro, techno and IDM. It’s a style she’s showcased on her latest records for the Ostgut camp, as well as those on the Klakson label she runs with Dexter and its offshoot imprints. Also joining us for a live performance are General Ludd, the Glasgow duo who’ve turned heads with leftfield breaks-flecked bombs on labels like Mister Saturday Night, Rubadub and Belters over the last few years. The bill is finally rounded off with a Farringdon debut from rising London duo, JAY and Sybil. The two SIREN affiliates unite for a special back-to-back set on what should be a full night of supreme electronic sounds.
