Joseph Capriati joins our 20th birthday celebrations. The Neapolitan DJ has had quite a journey with us over the course of his career – way back in 2011, he played one of his first UK gigs in our Room Two space. It became a regular home for him in the years that followed, perfectly complementing refined style of techno. In 2015 he released his fabric 80 album on our label series – around the time he was building a name for himself as one of the biggest DJs in the world. He’s now one of our seasoned regulars, as familiar with our Room One system as he is our cavernous Room Two spot. Joining him is one of our favourite live performers, Mathew Jonson. Undoubtedly one of electronic music’s most singular voices, Jonson has mastered a melody-affected techno sound that’s truly his own. It’s something he translates in his explosive live sets, the kind he’s been showcasing in Farringdon for the last 15 years. Rounding off the bill is a rising DJ who’s made her name forging a distinctive style of stripped-back, dubby techno over the last few years: Lauren Lo Sung.
Room Two goes hypnotic. We’re excited to welcome back Rødhåd, an artist whose transcendental DJ performances have quickly taken him to techno’s top ranks in recent years. The Dystopian founder’s sets combine loopy techno with a classic twist, a style he mastered in his Berlin hometown and has since taken around the world. He’s flanked by one of Italy’s best techno DJs on the ascent, the Goa Club resident Adiel. She makes her debut with us to round off what should be a heavyweight techno session in our XX series.
