RPR Soundsystem return for their annual December all-nighter. For many years now, Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu and Raresh have been championing the inimitable sound of their [a:rpia:r] label in our space, and they’ve long had a place at the heart of our musical world. Through their distinguished imprint, the trio pioneered a distinctive stripped-back style of minimal techno, one that became known globally as the “Romanian sound”. In their DJ performances, each artist has his own flair: Rhadoo is the most hypnotic of the three, a master in cutting between his vinyl cuts with surgical precision. Petre Inspirescu presents each of his minimalist funk records with a delicate classical approach, while Raresh always brings a bag of classic house bombs and charismatic energy. This December, their sounds converge, as they take charge of Room One as RPR Soundsystem for the entire night.

In Room Two, Maayan Nidam presents her Hellium project. Over the last decade, the Berlin artist has been best known for her work within the minimal house scene as part of the Perlon camp, but more recently, her record bag has displayed a disposition for a tougher techno sound. This year she’s taken up a residency at techno institution Tresor to present Hellium, and when she joins us, she’ll be lining up alongside one of the sound’s champions, Cosmin TRG. The Romanian artist has put out a string of killer releases on labels like 50Weapons, Fizic and Sportiv, and as a DJ, he’s equally accomplished. The pair link up for a four-hour set that should cross several shades of contemporary and classic techno. Our founding resident Terry Francis also brings his fusion of technoid house fusions to round out another heady Farringdon bill.
