Festival season may be all but done, but with our 20th anniversary celebrations ongoing through the entire year, we’ll be squeezing as much off-site partying in as possible heading into December. Our next one is a huge stage takeover at Exit Festival’s No Sleep Festival, which takes place in the cavernous Main Hangar warehouse at the Port of Belgrade on Saturday 9th November. We had a memorable weekend with the forward-thinking crew at the Petrovaradin Fortress last summer, so it’s a thrill to link up once again.
Joining us for the occasion are Bicep, the Belfast-born duo who have firmly cemented their place in electronic music’s top ranks. Recently they’ve been busy performing a series of massive live shows, bringing the euphoric rave spirit of their acclaimed eponymous LP to big stages across the globe. In the Main Hangar, they return to their roots to play behind the decks. We’ve been following these guys since the early Feel My Bicep days, so we can’t wait to have them onboard. We also welcome another of electronic music’s top duos in Mind Against, whose killer club tracks have appeared on labels like Life And Death, Afterlife, Cocoon and Hotflush. They prepare to air a batch of new polished techno weapons as part of our showcase. Also flanking is one of techno’s most promising stars on the rise, Anastasia Kristensen. The Danish talent has impressed us with her nimble take on techno and IDM both in our EC1 home hub and via our sister label Houndstooth, and after a headline-worthy performance at EXIT last year, she’s set to bring her dynamic, high-energy sound back to Serbia. Our residents naturally join the celebrations. Terry Francis has guided the sound of Saturday nights in our space since 1999, so it’s fitting he steps in to celebrate the last two decades. We also welcome one of the next generation of artists shaping our future, Anna Wall. Every artist is set to represent us inside No Sleep Festival’s Main Hangar as we prepare to tell the story of EC1 in Belgrade for the first time ever.
