We’re thrilled to announce we’re returning to Lovebox for a FABRICLIVE showcase this summer. On Friday 12th June, we’ll be bringing our beloved party to Gunnersbury Park as part of the crew’s 18th birthday celebrations. As with our previous takeovers in 2016 and 2017, we’ve lined a heavyweight cast of hitters – this time they’re set to bring a blend of drum & bass, jungle, grime, footwork and more to represent the sound of Friday nights in Farringdon.
Leading the proceedings are Chase & Status, the UK drum & bass powerhouses behind some of the sound’s modern-day anthems. Rising to prominence on the stellar RAM imprint, Saul Milton and Will Kennard captured the hearts of a generation of ravers with their dancefloor-driven D&B and dubstep sound, and they’ve remained at the forefront of the scene for the last decade. Since those early days they’ve launched the excellent MTA Records label, collaborated with people like Plan B and Kano, and played sellout gigs around the world, but they’ve also remained close to us through their journey. This summer, they perform a DJ set on our FABRICLIVE stage.
Joining them is Shy FX, the beloved junglist who’s long been a cornerstone of the UK’s underground scene. The Original Nuttah figurehead has been a regular at FABRICLIVE since the early 2000s, and his high-energy jungle sound has endured over the course of his lengthy career.
JME also stops by. We proudly hosted the London artist when the grime movement was starting to take hold across the capital, and he’s since become one of the sound’s stars. Widely considered one of the genre’s innovators, the Hackney artist is best known as the face of Boy Better Know, on which he worked closely with another hero of the scene, Skepta. This summer, he unveils his Grime MC FM concept on our stage.
We also host Sherelle. One of 2019’s unstoppable breakthrough talents, the London selector has taken the UK dance scene by storm since her memorable Boiler Room performance. Behind the decks, she cuts through footwork, jungle and D&B, freely moving between tempos and styles with the ease of a seasoned pro. Finally there’s a Mixtape Madness Takeover, with a full crew of some of today’s most promising DJ and MC talents set to helm the proceedings.
As with our previous Lovebox appearances, we’ll be setting up camp with the high-class sound and production we’re used to presenting in the heart of EC1 every weekend.
