We can’t wait to let Chicago’s house music pioneer Derrick Carter loose on Room One this Saturday. As we look back over music legends history, spanning twenty years of rhythmic allure behind the decks, his club tastes show off a musical sensibility to bold-school disco, soul, jazz, jackin' boompty house and so much more. Just one of the stories that first attracted our attention to Derrick’s extraordinary musical journey was how at the tender age of 9, he was spinning disco records at family reunions. Ever since, he’s been indulging in his passion for disco, educating crowds and adding some soulful shine to the scene. His set from Electric Elephant in Croatia earlier this summer has been burning up the fabric office all week and in a true disco inferno, we’ve been busting out some rare moves, emulating our favourite disco dance icons...
