fabric podcast 025 – Tapefeed

A heated session from heavy-hitters and fabric residents Tapefeed before their Birthday set this weekend.

Enjoy another sonic treat ahead our 24th Birthday celebrations: Club residents Tapefeed land us a hefty session, that expertly scopes their heavy sound, pin-point dynamic, and cutting edge extremities before the pair play Room 2 this weekend. During the Saturday night-Sunday morning section, expect to find them alongside fellow heavy-weight techno stalwarts, Freddy K, Rene, Wise, and Adiel.

Alessandro Boni and Rick Vayo aka Tapefeed, have been busy forging an undeviating path on the international techno scene since their formation, as committed as ever to evolving their sound. Most recently at fabric, the pair debuted their hybrid live set at the club, and have even turned their hand to curating the whole Room 2 – beyond that have been busy maintaining an established presence in the international electronic music world elsewhere too, having shared the decks with fellow techno stalwarts Jeff Mills, Tommy Four Seven, Paula Temple, Perc, I Hate Models - to name a few. With industry interventions, and an unmistakable live presence, Tapefeed are expertly scaling and redefining the perimeters of techno.

As DJs and producers, their sound encompasses a relentless array of styles, from powerful broken-beat grooves to distinctive techno and raw percussive sounds. Alongside releases on labels like Mord, Metempsychosis and Abyss, 2021 saw Tapefeed launch their own imprint Inveterate, and have since released an EP on our experimental imprint Houndstooth. The label has been showcasing the duo’s archetypal sound and vision ever since, inviting fellow producers to push boundaries.

Tapefeed return for the fabric Birthday on 14th–15th October.
