Christian Smith grew up during a booming period for Swedish techno, but it was away from his native land during the early 90s that he first broke through. Following a period studying in USA he picked up DJing while travelling around Brazil, cutting his teeth in some of Sao Paolo’s best clubs. He’s released emphatic techno for powerhouses like Cocoon, Plus8 and Drumcode, although the main outlet for his work is Tronic, the label he’s helmed and released on for the last two decades. He joins Pig&Dan’s next Odyssey for a special live performance this Sunday, so ahead of the date, he sent us a recent live set showing the sound he brings to the world’s best dancefloors each weekend: smooth, groove-laden techno made for the dancefloor.
