Getting introduced to a listenership through appearing on record with one of the scene’s most respected blog partnerships is honestly a very good place to start. Ejeca’s Aus Music released collaboration with Bicep, ‘You’, is one of those records that found its way into sets and record boxes overnight with the big bubbling vocal and those strung pads elongating the tone into a more pensive environment. It was followed by a solo release on Needwant that really fused together the bump of garage with the jack of house – I know it’s something people say a lot but listen to ‘Horizon’ and tell me it doesn’t instantly move you in the way garage did with that more current, big room house sound palette. It’s a trick he seems to have mastered with his ‘Night Rays’ track (forthcoming on W&O) working a similar thread.
The Belfast based Ejeca makes his debut appearance at FABRICLIVE on 9th Nov in Room Three with fellow Aus Music signing Midland and it’s the kind of proposition that completely works, with the two DJs complimenting each other on paper and in the booth. Ejeca’s already made fans of artists as diverse as Erol Alkan, Jackmaster and Sasha and with this latest mix, made to promote his appearance here a week on Friday, chances are you’ll be singing his praises shortly too.
