If you’ve been coming to Farringdon on Saturday nights on the regular for the last few years, it’s likely you’ll know of Matteo Manzini. The Italian DJ is a known figure among London’s electronic music community – outside of supporting our favourite minimalists at the club, he can often be found playing with some of the scene’s breaking talents at his parties AnnD and Damaged. Close followers will know his music from his want? imprint, where he’s recently put out the type of low-ended minimal the likes of Rhadoo have championed.
Manzini brought this sound to Room One when he joined us last month. Warming up for Romanian stars Atipic aka Priku, Vlad Caia and Petre Inspirescu, he delivered a carefully-balanced mix of shuffling broken beats and hard-to-find minimal techno to soundtrack the club’s opening hours. We’re still glowing looking back on this night in its entirety, so we decided to share Manzini’s two-hour opening in full.
