Making his FABRICLIVE debut here this very evening, we’ve been blessed with a super late entry mix from Skeptical, aka Hertfordshire based Ashley Tindall. A producer very much on the rise he’s putting out releases in all the right places with records on labels like Critical, Renegade Hardware, Dispatch and Ingredients. Cementing his relationship with Klute’s Commercial Suicide with this appearance, we’re happy to be able to provide a glimpse of what you can expect from his set in Room Three this evening.
We caught up with him to quickly introduce his music...
For those who may not be acquainted with your sound, can you introduce yourself in 10 words?
My name is Skeptical and I write drum & bass music.
What have you been working on recently?
Nothing really specific but since the new year I've kept my head down and have been working hard. I mainly writing d&b but I also like writing techno, I think it’s important to switch up the tempos every now and then. You can’t stick to one thing otherwise you'll drive yourself mad.
How did you get involved with d&b?
From what I can remember I've always loved electronic music. Growing up as a teenager I got my first pair of decks so it all escalated from there really. Local pirate radio and record shops all had a massive influence at the time. I found it fascinating and I still do.
How would you describe the music you make?
Dun no really, clean, warm, organic, minimal....
Can you tell us more about upcoming music from you?
At the end of February I've got a 12" coming on Dispatch which was co-written with MC Fokus. After that is a 12" on Samurai with Dub Phizix which features two MCs called T Man and Sparkz. I’m also writing 12"s for Commercial Suicide and Exit. Work has started on my album too. I do have other projects but would like to keep them quiet for now.
Ahead of your set here what can we expect from the night?
Pretty much the same vibe as this mix, I like my sets to have energy and flow but it all depends on what
the vibe is like on the night. You'll have to come see for yourself.
