Feed Your Stereo: A Duo of Mixes from Derrick Carter

We’ve been so busy banging on about Detroit, it would almost seem that we’re prejudice to that one geographical region of musical significance. So in the name of balance, we’d like to take the opportunity to show you that we’re equally enthralled with all the nuances of sound that come the city of Chicago. The Windy City had its own part to play in the formation of house music and Derrick Carter is a man of huge significance in carrying that sound through into these contemporary times and guess what? We’re getting ready to welcome him back to Room One this coming Saturday. In what serve as perfect examples of the progression that Carter has always carried, while preserving his own profound character the Classic Recordings man has recently uploaded a pair of mixes to his Soundcloud account. His ‘Choice’ mix released in 2003 and something a lot more recent; a live recording of a DJ set which is a week fresh.
