dBridge, FKA twigs, Special Request and more feature in our top 40 tracks of 2019

It’s been another amazing year for music.

From Special Request’s almost endless supply of 90s-indebted rave anthems, Fontaines D.C. and Slowthai offering their own take on today’s punk revival, and J. Majik returning to push the parameters of jungle and drum & bass, it felt like many of the best moments came from those who were offering something new with a nod to tried-and-tested styles of the past. Others like Four Tet went the other way to craft modern (and undeniably catchy) summer classics. Then there were the ultra-refined techno cuts, which thanks to artists like Anastasia Kristensen and Barker, came in abundance over the course of the year.

We’ve rounded all of this up for our latest Office Playlist, which condenses the year in music into our 40 favourite tracks. Listen below.
