About the fabric mix series and our collaboration with Apple Music

Our enduring mix series and London Unlocked showcase the sounds of our home here in Farringdon, which has welcomed premiere artists week-in, week-out since we opened our doors in 1999. The launch on Apple Music marks the first time these iconic compilations and sets will be available to a streaming audience.Kate Malcolm of fabric Records says of the launch: “We were super proud to be asked by Apple to collaborate on the DJ Mix project, and especially pleased to see our iconic fabric and FABRICLIVE mixes from the past 20 years revitalized through this collaboration. I’m imagining all the memories that will be re-kindled for so many as well as the enthusiasm from an entirely new audience.”

Global Head of Dance & Electronic at Apple Music Stephen Campbell adds: “fabric is a cultural institution, a catalyst for countless moments that have shaped global Dance culture. We’re super-excited to bring a collection of those moments to streaming for the first time. Now we have the tools to compensate all creators involved in a DJ mix fairly, we’re dedicated to growing and exploring new possibilities to ensure Apple Music is the best destination for dance and electronic fans globally.”

From 2021 electronic music enthusiasts will also be able stream sets from fabric’s London Unlocked live performance series from 2021. Earlier this year, we stepped outside of our home in Farringdon, into several iconic, historical and culturally venerated venues across the capital city. Released already is, Batu at Smithfield Market, Kode9 at Round Chapel, Shy One at The Royal Albert Hall, Midland at V&A Museum and Djrum at Tower Bridge.
