Audio: Bladerunner drops a cutting jungle mix

Ever since Bladerunner was picked up for Ray Keith’s influential Dread Recordings imprint back in 2004, he’s maintained a place at the crest of the UK’s drum & bass scene. Initial releases on the label saw him blending 90s jungle sounds with the then-flourishing drum & bass soundscapes of the mid-to-late 00s – many of which are included in his new mix for us. Compare any of these tunes to newer stuff like Flying Technique or the Kings of the Rollers weapon You Got Me, and you can hear the strong stylistic voice he’s continued to adapt in an ever-changing scene. This Friday he returns with Shimon and the AudioPorn crew, and in his mix ahead of the date, cutting jungle is the primary flavour. In between a chunk of his own remixes, the UK favourite splices together classics from icons like Peshay and Roni Size with current trendsetters like S.P.Y and Benny L.
