Audio: Flava D - FABRICLIVE x Butterz Mix

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that I’m pretty pleased the Butterz residency is returning to Farringdon on Friday 1st November. Founded by friends and DJ partners, Elijah & Skilliam, the Butterz label has become a pretty vital outlet for a number of producers and for the sound of grime music in general with the imprint pressing up vinyl releases and presenting them under a unifying banner to jump out from. They’re a strong clique, with many composite parts - the producers Royal T, Swindle and Terror Danjah all immediately stand out with their own trademark approaches to their art form - but somehow, the team feels like so much more than the music they make, house and play out. Elijah’s long been a voice in the scene and the label’s club nights have given a lot of fresh ears an education in modern London. Flava D is one of the latest producers to join the collective, stepping out on the label with the third in their series of VIP releases (‘Home VIP’ b/w ‘Hold On VIP’); a release that teemed a Sega channelled melody with steppy percussion on one side whilst the other was a rolling, mid-range driven pumper. Having already released two EPs for free on her bandcamp and made an impact with her slew of recent War Dubs in the recent Lord of the Beats production battle (outlined here quite pertinently by Logan Sama on his Kiss FM show) that blossomed seemingly out of nowhere on twitter this September, she’s just dropped a new track ‘All They Do Is Hate’ on SBTV’s new producer focused Beats series… Ahead of her appearance here in the Butterz room in a couple of weeks, D kindly put together a 27 minute mix that’s comprised completely of her own productions; another one of those statements that only marks her out even further as a serious talent to watch out for… Download: Flava D - FABRICLIVE x Butterz Mix No tracklist given but we're assured its 100% Flava D productions.
