Though he now lives in Ibiza, Stephane Ghenacia has close ties to us in London. It was here that he first visited the disco over 10 years ago, and after moving to the city permanently in 2010 he became a frequent visitor to Farringdon almost every Saturday night.
At the same time he was playing as a DJ, co-founding his own party series in Hackney Wick under the name Colors. Once the party spawned its own label, he even named one of his tracks after the thriving creative area.
Ghenacia became well-known for his DJ sets across the East end of the city, and more recently he’s also become something of a regular fixture on our Saturday night programming in the club.
In the last month he's been working with Kerri Chandler with a remix of his classic
Six Pianos, but he still found the time to record a mix for us ahead of his return to the club this weekend. Drawing seductive house weapons with sharp snares and rolling bass lines, Ghenacia’s mix recalls a sound a sound we expect will complement Chicago pioneer Derrick Carter perfectly this weekend.
If you can't make it this weekend, Stephane Ghenacia also plays with Apollonia in Room One on 4th November.
Tickets are available here.
