According to Infusion Magazine, Ben 'MACH 4' McDonald has been pushing Drum n Bass and Breaks to the ears of the UAE with his GlobalFunk brand for the last ten years. He's the first Middle East drum & bass DJ to have played on the systems locked deep within our brickwork and he spoke to the publication at length about his forthcoming appearance. You can read the full article here but in his own words...
"I've been promoting Drum n Bass and Breaks here for a good few years now and having brought over pretty much all the top names you form some good friendships with the DJs and MCs. DJ Hype was one of the first big international names we had over back in 2004 and when he came back for GlobalFunk in 2009 he asked me if I would be interested to play at Playaz (his legendary night at fabric) at some stage. I of course said yes and we had been looking to try and work a date out since then. My travel plans in the summer of 2009 and this year didn't work around the dates he had but a few weeks back I got an email from him asking if I was available for the 10th anniversary on 29th October. I made myself available..!"
As if by divine intervention he just dropped us this mix so that the our wider world wasn't flying bling into his booking, reportedly an "across the board selection," its the sound of what attendees of this Friday's 10 Years of Playaz celebration can expect from his Room Two set.
