Audio: Mihai Popoviciu presents the sound of Cyclic Records

Mihai Popoviciu is a house and techno producer from Romania. While the Eastern European country has become something of a hotbed for a new wave of producers in recent years, Popoviciu’s been one of the scene’s most prominent faces for more than a decade, dropping a string of well-received records on labels like International Deejay Gigolo, Fear Of Flying and his own outlet, Cyclic Records. Currently based in his quiet hometown of Sibiu, he also keeps himself busy on the weekends with regular gigs around Europe, including an upcoming gig with us at this weekend’s Sunday night session. He prepared a mix for us ahead of the date, where he presents the minimalist, groove-inclined sound of his much-loved imprint.
