Audio: Oliver Schories drops a sharp house mix

Oliver Schories is a German producer, DJ and label owner. Operating out of Hamburg, he’s part of a loosely-defined house scene that’s also home to local artists like Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Adana Twins, and over the last decade he’s partly helped cement the city’s reputation as a hotbed for a modern and refined style of house and techno. Since breaking through in 2010 he’s honed a sound that marries stripped-back tech house and late-night melodies – most recently shown on his Maia EP for Nick Curly’s 8bit Records label – and in between his own gigs and studio sessions, he champions music from his friends and rising talents of the German scene via his own imprint, Soso. This Friday he’s set to debut at Forms alongside Jan Blomqvist and Sinál, and ahead of joining us, he dropped a mix that fuses the sparkling atmospherics of his own work with a sharp rolling nod to the floor.
