As a collaboration between Machinedrum and Braille, two producers whose solo work stands out in its own right, the Sepalcure project was always going to yield good things. Their debut album, which arrived almost exactly a year ago on the Hotflush label, was an infused blend of garage skip, house mentality, pitch bent acapellas and a heady sense of feeling. It dropped at a time that, with the gift of hindsight, was an exciting tipping point for the label as they moved ever deeper into four four territory and it’s a move reflected in the labels forthcoming takeover of Room Two next Saturday night. Sepalcure’s live show will be joining Scuba, who releases his new album ‘Personality’ at the end of the February, Sigha and George Fitzgerald on a bill that reflects the diversity and direction of the label.
