On The Road: Reso's Tour Diary Parts 2 & 3

Reso makes music and in turn, puts it out on the Civil Music label. He's currently on tour in the U.S of A promoting his 'Ishimura EP', so ahead of his homecoming here in Room Three on the 2nd March he's agreed to put together something of a tour diary for us... You can read on to see what he's been up to... Oh and he's also dropped a free tune, the Evol Intent remix of 'Ishimura' no less, over on his facebook page. You can grab that here: http://on.fb.me/EvolIntentRemix Denver: Felt a bit ropey thanks to that whisky, thought I might be sick into an old ladies hood in the airport security line. Had a coke and a sandwich (said it was real mozzarella- I beg to differ) which made me feel much better. Internal flights are a piece of piss so I quite happily watched the scenery outside the plane go by without having my arse twitch every 2 seconds because of turbulence. Listened to Zazen Boys 4, I can recommend it, although the 10 minute house track is a bit unnecessary. Had a nice chat with the girl who picked me up at the airport then got dropped at the hotel. No sausage pillow so that’s minus points but it’s still nice. Tried to order room service but the man in the kitchen didn't believe my room existed. That was a fun conversation, ended up going down to the kitchen and waving my room key at him with all the passive aggressive disdain I could muster. Turns out he thought I was one of the other staff taking the piss out of him in a bad English accent. Still, he gave me a free can of sprite so silver linings and all that. Finally met up with Mike from Evol Intent and had a couple of Guinness's in a nice Irish pub then went to the venue. Sadly it was a bit empty, but then it is mid Feb and its bastard-well freezing and I’m not Skrillex/Excision etc. I had fun though and Mike smacked it. Playing records is not the most taxing "job" and any DJ that complains about it should be given a Frank Butcher style dry one. Made the mistake of eating maccie D's before bed 'cause it was the only thing open. Damn you. Clown. Minneapolis: That McDonalds was a very bad choice. After only three hours sleep I woke up with a serious case of the McGurgles. Turns out Mike had the exact same thing so the funk of the clown was definitely to blame. The flight was as exciting as I thought it'd be; I look at them as an excuse the play video games in a 100% guilt free way. I'm not the kind of keen producer who wants to make tunes on a plane. I mean how good can a tune be that you make on public transport? In my case, a load of dogshite. Turned out we were staying at the original Raddisson hotel, to celebrate this little factoid I had an absolutely banging beef French dip sandwich from room service. Although the women who brought it up thought I was Australian again. Why do Americans always think people from England who don't speak like Hugh Grant are Australian? After watching Lawnmower Man on TV it was time to leave. I had played at The Loft before and the show was great so I had high hopes for the night. I wasn't disappointed! The night was packed and everyone was well up for it. Mike smashed it and I had a lot of fun too. The only negative thing was the temperature outside, made ducking out for a smoke a bit of an endurance test.
