Crissy Criss might be one of the youngest presenters currently broadcasting on BBC Radio 1xtra but he’s a DJ with a truck load more experience in his particular field of drum & bass than he lets on. With one of the old school’s most prominent names, Kenny Ken, as a step father, Crissy was exposed to his first set of turntables by the age of 5 and 4 years later he was teaching himself how to beatmatch records. If that sounds crazy, consider that his first set at a festival came at the age of 10 and he was performing at The End in London a year later. It’s fair to say as a broadcaster he’s been educated in clubs for pretty much half of his life and that kind of baptism by fire really comes across in the confidence of his selections.
Playing in Room Two a week tonight (on the 18th January) Crissy’s put together a storming mix to give you a better idea of how he’ll be playing on a night when the club witnesses the return of Mampi Swift alongside sets from D&B Arena tipped Annix , DJ Die and Dillinja.
