Cuartero played for us for the first time last year, where he brought the house down with his signature tech-led rhythms in Room One. His debut with us was such a storm that we knew we’d be bringing him back again in the coming months, and so it made perfect sense to invite him to record a mix for the blog too. Before he joins us alongside the much-loved Solid.Grooves crew next Friday, he sent us a mix of punchy house grooves to warm us up for the date. Download: Cuartero Forms Promo Mix How and where was the mix recorded? I recorded the mix from the studio in my house, with DJR400, vinyl and digital tracks. Is there a theme or mood to the mix? There’s not so much of a theme, but I always attempt to sense the mix beforehand to get a feel for the direction. From where did you source most of the records? Mostly promos and friends, as well as vinyl and Beatport. What’s your connection to the Solid. Grooves crew? I’ve played with them on a few occasions now. They’re a good crew, they do things very well and so it’s always a pleasure to work with them. Can you talk about your plans for the summer and rest of the year? I’ll be at several festivals in Europe, including Weekend Beach, Medusa and Mystic Garden. I’ll also have many dates in Ibiza including Paradise at DC-10 and Amnesia.
