Audio: Martyn - IMPULSIEF

Dutch producer Martyn, has been a little selective of late; or rather he's limited his presence online to that of a ghost. As his 3024 label awaits the release of its latest 12", two tracks by Addison Groove, the fabric 50 mixer has uploaded a mix to the internet as part of Oki Ni's mix series. Less a promo mix crammed full of upfront productions, its an exploration of genres and tracks defined by Martyn's sporadic impulse to make a mix of something different; hence the mix title, the Dutch translation of 'impulsive. ' Speaking to the site he states: "I do like spontaneously recorded moments, so I woke up, saw that here in the sleepy suburbs of Washington DC it was going to be a beautiful day, and decided to do a mix as if it were a spring afternoon radio show, with a few jingles and music from across the board that I love dearly." "Contrary to my DJ gigs in clubs, I actually danced hard to these songs during the recording, and I found out there's no shame in knowing all the lyrics to West End Girls. Hope you enjoy the music!"
