Audio: Mungo’s Hi Fi present the sound of Scotch Bonnet

You’re never far from a killer dub with Mungo’s Hi Fi. Since the early 2000s the Scottish outfit have been champions of their own style of dazed reggae and dub, a sound that was otherwise largely neglected in Glasgow when they first arrived on the scene. Through their labels Scotch Bonnet and Scrub A Dub they’ve been the city’s most vital flagbearer for sound system culture, releasing a generous body of work spanning reggae, dub and dubstep among other UK favourites like Stalawa and Danny T & Tradesman. In advance of their Scotch Bonnet showcase with us this Friday, the crew have compiled a session featuring all of the imprint’s most essential names set to join them in Room One.
