Audio: Clone Basement Podcast Mixed by Serge

Clone logo As a label, Clone has been home for some of the most revered names in underground techno and electro including Adult, Alden Tyrell, Cosmic Force, Dexter, Drexciya, Duplex, I-f, Jamal Moss, Legowelt, Larry Heard, Marshall Jefferson, Mike Dunn, Dopplereffekt and Gerd. They’ve also become known for their release series that collate differing styles like Clone Classic Cuts, Jack For Daze, Royal Oak and label boss Serge’s current project The Clone Basement Series. The latest release from series is a recently re-discovered track pulled off a DAT tape from the archive, something different from his modern day sound. We’ve also long been into the sounds of A Made Up Sound as heard below, unleashing his acid tinged techno side from the subbier restrictions of his tightly honed bass music alter ego, 2562 (P.S. Check out Rear Window on Delsin). In this mix Serge presents the sound of the Clone Basement Series, first heard on The Ransom Note, on which you can expect more insight into the label’s current activities in a joint interview with Alden Tyrrel and Serge next week, as well as a competition to win tickets to the event next Saturday.
