With a rising stock amongst beat contemporaries and the press for his latest releases, it comes as no surpriseto learn that Kidkanevil has somewhat of a heritage within beat music. A relatively new face to some, he’s been hard at work crafting 3 albums to date, the lastest of which, Basho Basho, has drawn comparisons to the work of LA kingpin Flying Lotus. Switching up his styles, remaining true to that powerful boom bap hip hop sound that inspired his music in the first place, his term at this year’s Red Bull Music Academy in London has seemingly spurred his creativity, with the producer linking large with people like Illum Sphere (who runs the profitable Hoya Hoya enterprise in Manchester) and London producer savant, Blue Daisy. Spinning in Room Three this Friday for The Doctor’s Orders Xmas Jam (alongside Mr Thing, DJ 279 and the Spin Doctor himself) Kidkanevil was so kind as to lace us with a mixtape, one of those ones that manages to join distant genres, styles and producers effortlessly; so it’s one of those that we’re joyed out to present to you here, for free....
